Sarah and Ben’s original kitchen was impractical and lacked functionality, and being a young family of 4 this was a huge no no. “Our original kitchen was 18 years old with little space for food preparation or storage. We decided to remove our old kitchen and run the new kitchen in a completely different direction to achieve a more open plan living space” said Ben.
Once Sarah and Ben decided on a gallery layout it was time to pick their colours. The pair chose to go with a two-tone colour scheme with a shaker style influence. Sarah explained. “we selected nougat truffle in an alpine profile for our back-wall cabinetry, and for the island we decided on the kaboodle paint your own doors range, using the colour gun metal grey. The instructions from kaboodle on how to paint your own doors made this process really easy!”
With two kids under the age of 10, changing their home to focus on the kitchen has been a rewarding decision for Sarah and Ben, “Our kids can now sit up at the breakfast bar and do their homework while we cook dinner” said Ben.
“The highlight of our kitchen is definitely our island bench! We found kaboodle to be easy from planning to assembly all the way through to installation. We would definitely look to use kaboodle again in our next home” Sarah said.
