Copper was the metal of the moment for 2015 and stainless steel has been in for some time, but these new rich and luxurious gold tones are starting to make their mark, creating a huge splash in the market and offering a fashion forward alternative to what we’ve been seeing in kitchens up until now.
Like a real-life Midas touch, gold is everywhere – in design magazines, colour forecasts and all over award winning kitchens this year.
We’re seeing it used in two ways: The first, a highly polished, reflective finish and the second a softer, more aged look heading towards brass.
If you’re brave, you could use gold throughout your whole kitchen for an opulent look. We’d recommend partnering it with softer colours and materials for a more subtle approach though, such as creamy white, matt black, blond timber or marble.
