We collaborated with Tash from The Colour Tribe to create a walk-in butler’s pantry with, you guessed it, plenty of colour! We sat down with Tash as she shared what was on the top of her wish list when designing the space with kaboodle.
“Visually, I wanted to love what I see when I walked past. I know this sounds like a silly first consideration but everything about my home needs to bring me an instant “feel” when I walk in. The green cabinetry well and truly ticked that box.”
“I wanted a colour that would complement the vintage and retro heritage of my home, while bringing a fresh contemporary feel. It gives our home even more personality and complements our bright retro yellow kitchen, too!”
Plenty of bench space, plenty of storage and loads of open shelving to showcase her creative styling juices were also on the top of the priority list for Tash and her young family of four.
For something a little different, our vic ash timber benchtops were cut as shelving to open up the space, allowing for items to be displayed for that ever-so-important touch of styling.
“Our kitchen is quite small so it has been so handy having an extra room to prepare for entertaining. We all love storage (who doesn’t!) so a place to keep glasses, plates and pantry items all in an orderly fashion was important. I really wanted these items stored seamlessly.”
If you’re thinking about playing with colour at home, and want to inject a pop of colour into your space, Tash has some pointers that might help to get you started.
“Colour doesn’t need to be scary! It’s fun, and most importantly joyous. Start small, look around and if you see something that brings an instant smile to your face, try it out in your home.”
